The HouseKate Sheppard House is a private home; however arrangement can be made for the use of a bridal suite during the day of your wedding with a private bathroom and room to change and groom. The interior decoration of the home features antiques and New Zealand art and provides a wonderful option for wedding photography. Garden ToursGroups are most welcome for private guided tours of Kate Sheppard House and Garden. Hosted by the property owner – Julia Burbury, you will hear of the garden design and plantings – including the expansive pottage garden yard and information on the historic background of Kate Sheppard, the original owner of the property, whose face today is found on the New Zealand ten dollar note. Julia welcomes visitors to see through her lovely home. This is an Heritage One listed property and well worth the visit. Guideline for cost: $10.00 per person. Morning or afternoon teas and lunch are also available for inclusion for tour groups.
